Search Databitat
Search finds information through meaning and context without ever expanding the permissions of the person searching.
What Search can find
Search can bring together Places, Contacts, and Card content you are allowed to see, including notes, documents, and dossiers.
Results include enough context to distinguish similar items before you open them.
The search scope
A search begins in the active Account and can be narrowed to a Place. In a hierarchy it may include child Places you can also access.
Narrowing the scope reduces noise and makes results easier to interpret.
Search respects permissions
The engine only considers information visible to you. A match never reveals the existence or excerpts of a restricted item.
This filter is applied before results or assisted answers are produced.
How results are ordered
Results combine matching and context: title, content, Place, relationships, and recency can all contribute to relevance.
Ranking will evolve without changing access boundaries.
Search and assisted answers
Search retrieves sources; an assisted conversation can summarize or connect them to answer a question. These are different steps, and answers should preserve citations.
When the evidence is insufficient, Databitat should say so instead of presenting filled gaps as facts.
