Working with information
Add, share, and export
Adding information means giving content enough context and governance to remain useful beyond the moment it is created.
Choose the content type
Databitat distinguishes notes, documents, conversations, dossiers, and projects so each type can behave as needed.
They all share a Card, which unifies authorship, dates, relationships, permissions, and history.
Add context from the start
When adding an item, choose its Place and connect the people, organizations, or dates that will help others interpret it.
Good context makes information searchable and reusable without relying on its creator's memory.
Start with what you have
You do not need to complete every field before saving. Start with the essential content and enrich the Card as new information becomes available.
Its history preserves that evolution and shows what was known at each point in time.
Export information
An export should preserve both content and enough context to understand it outside Databitat. The specific format depends on the item type.
Export options will be documented as they become available in the product.
